Code Input Area

Paste Markwhen here, or drop a .mw or .mwn file.

Markwhen Viewer

Paste a Markwhen document to see it as a timeline. Markwhen is a Markdown-like text format for timelines, so it suits incident logs, project plans and release histories.

What you get

  • A Gantt-style chart with time running left to right, tag colours from your header, and a line marking now.
  • Sections drawn as bands and groups as boxes; partly ticked checklists show progress on their bars.
  • Click an event for its dates, properties, notes, links and checklist; double-click it to find it in your input.
  • A Source tab with your original text; switch tabs with Ctrl E (⌘ E on a Mac).

Try it

Good to know

Both Markdown-heading sections and the older section … endSection / group … endGroup blocks are accepted, as are ISO dates like 2026-10-17T13:04. The syntax is documented at markwhen.com.
